Inventive Ideas for Your Garage This Summer

So, we’re finally here. It’s summer (maybe not officially, but the weather has finally turned itself round after a long, cold “spring”). With summer comes the possibility to get outside and enjoy the sun. No longer do we have to stay in, huddled round the fire as the rain pelts away at the world outside.

With this in mind, it’s important to make use of the outside space you’ve got. While a garage isn’t exactly an “outside” space, it can be an extension of that. Simply open the door, and you’ve got a half-covered area leading directly to the outside. Here, Bullet Garage Doors take a look at some inventive ways of making the most of your garage this summer.

A garden party base

If you’re a football fan, you might be looking forward to a certain upcoming tournament this month, somewhere in Russia. Well, how about having a few friends over, setting up the TV and some seating in the garage, with the option of re-enacting (or rectifying, let’s be honest, probably the latter) at half-time what you’ve seen on the screen?

Whether or not you’re a football fan, though, having your seating indoors at a garden party makes a lot of sense, what with the unpredictable nature of the weather. Rather than bringing everyone into your actual home, though, set something up in the garage and keep the feel of an outdoor event.

Extend the garden

You don’t need to be having a party, or watching the world cup, to want to go outside. When the weather becomes nice, it’s common to want to eat outside in the evenings, and to want to spend your weekends there. Again, why not extend your space, open up the garage, and get a bit more room. It’ll make the whole garden feel bigger, and provides an excellent hiding spot for when the rain inevitably arrives!

Set up a den

This one’s best if you have children, or are one … although if you’re not and have always wanted to hang out in a den, then go for it! Letting your children loose in unfamiliar territory, while fun for them, can cause plenty of nervous hours as a parent. Letting them loose in a garage, however, could act as a happy middle-ground. There’s plenty of scope to add furniture, TVs, games consoles, and whatever else might keep them and their friends entertained. During the summer, it should be warm and dry enough not to cause any comfort issues, too.

Just be sure to remove any hazards, such as tools, before you can sit back and enjoy the relative quiet!

Make sure your door’s in order!

Before you do any of these things, it’s important to make sure that everything is working as it should be.
